Should we stay or should we go now!

Tim and I were recently offered a summer sales job for a growing company run out of Utah. The company's CEO is an area General Authority for Salt Lake and a member of the 70 so it was obvious to us that the company was in good hands and we would be taken care of. The idea of moving somewhere we have never been before was nerve racking yet intriguing to the both of us. I was completely against quitting our jobs and leaving our comfortable and secure life behind for a job that promised nothing...but figured I would give it a chance.
We met with our recruiter Paul for a short briefing about the company and the plans for this summer. I went into the meeting with a hard heart and a negative attitude. The first thing I told Paul was that I was against the idea and was only attending the meeting for the free ice cream! We talked and voiced our concerns and opinions of the job and against all odds, Paul convinced me that being a part of the summer team would be a good thing for us. Long story short, our once negative idea was turned around and we had to begin our search for an answer on what would be best for our family....
After many prayers, fasting, frustration, and loads of stress, Tim and I received our answer. We realized we have been SO blessed with the things we have in our life. We felt that if we took the summer job that we would, in a sense, ungrateful for the things that we have been given so far in our lives as a married couple. We have declined the summer job and decided to stay here in good ol' Arizona. We have amazing jobs, free schooling, a wonderful house, an incredible ward, the most terrific friends, and sensational families!! How could we give all that up for what MIGHT happen in a summer sales job?

New Years 2009

This year, Tim and I decided to get him out of his comfort zone and shake things up a little bit, and by a little I mean, A LOT! My older brother Josh and his wife Emma planned a huge Latin style dance party. Somehow, I talked Tim into taking me and I worried that he would be too uncomfortable with people he did not know and that did not speak much English. I was WAY wrong! We got there early ( which was really almost an hour late but on Latin time thats early) so Emma and Josh took the liberty of showing us how to do some of the more traditional style dances. In my head, I was thinking " Tim is going to kill me for this!" We picked it up relatively
quickly and I was thrilled when Tim let out his first big laugh of the night. ( I knew he would have fun after that) The people there were so sweet, we made friends with them REALLY fast and we were not allowed to sit and do nothing!! They would grab out hands and say "Time to dance! Its time to party!!"Here are a few of the pictures from the night, I figured they would retell the stories better than me explaining them!

Before all the dancing and sweaty night began. I love Tim in this picture! He's such a cute boy!
Joshy and I ( This is out of sequence, its at the end of the night but oh well)
Tim and I were learning how to do the dance known as SALSA!! Our form was off but we are new to the latin style sexy dance.. dont judge us! hahahaha look at Tim shaking his hips! He did SO well!!! Candid Shots !! Ha I LOVED seeing him shake it!

Getting ready to ring in the new year, haha I love Tims face in this, haha the flash was blinding him!
Josh bought us poppers, they made a HUGE mess with everyone popping them but it was super fun to dance in the mess!
Goodbye 2009 you've been so good to us, Hello 2010 lets be friends!!

Tim and I had an amazing time dancing and speding time with Josh and Emma! We agreed that this was easily one of the funnest times that we shared together! I love my husband!

KATE!

For my Birthday, my mother in law gave me money and made me promise I would not spend it on bills. Since the only thing I really wanted was pictures, Tim agreed to take some with me ( As if engagement and wedding pictures were not enough) He was such a good sport and he kept telling me "Its your birthday baby anything to make you happy!" He really does everything he can to make me smile! I am such a lucky girl!! We loved our photographer. Tim grew up with her in Snowflake and she is so talented!!! I highly recommend her to anyone!! Check out her work at Katelinesphotography.com!! She is SO much fun!! We loved working with her!! Here are a few of the pictures she shot that day!!

This was my favorite!! I love looking at him!!

He makes my heart pound and the butterflies in my tummy get excited!

We are in love..can you tell!! My favorite thing about Kate, is she does not really pose you, she just lets you talk and act like you would if she was not there.. Some pictures needed her help since we are not the most photogenic people! hahah

I love when he kisses my cheek! He's the best!!!

Nobody can make me laugh the way Tim does!! He is more than amazing!! Simply perfect, my better half!!! I love him so much!!

I love my husband!!! Thats all there is to it... The end!!

Fall and Birthday, next ...THANKSGIVING!

Well Fall is here and we are soooo excited for our first holiday season!! haha It all starts with the spooky decorations and carving pumpkins! WOO HOO for our first Halloween together!! I have decided being married is THE BEST THING EVER!!!

For my birthday I asked Tim if we could get our pictures done professionally!! He is such a good sport but I can hardly wait!! I am SO excited for them that I keep going to the mall to try to figure out what we are going to wear. I just want them perfect, we have an INCREDIBLE photographer though, Mrs. Kate Lines, so she could make the pictures awesome if we wore potato sacks!! I am really not worried, just anxious and super happy about the idea we will have more pictures to cover the walls with!! YAY!!

Being married is amazing!! I love my husband more than anything in the world and I just feel so blessed to have him! He was on the phone with his brother who apparently said something hilarious and Tim just burst out laughing. I swear our walls could have come crashing down with the vibration in his laugh!! Thats my favorite thing ever!

How we began..

Tim and I met when I was a sophmore and he was a junior. We met at a regional choir concert that surprisingly neither of us actually wanted to try out for (thank goodness for our teachers that signed us up without our concent)We went to different high schools but we both shared a passion for music. Something that has never changed. Tim had the BIGGEST most contagious laugh of anyone I had ever met and I was VERY timid and shy. I had my eye on him the entire practice but for some reason he played things cool and acted like girls were lame sauce in his eyes! Later though, after our lunch break, Tim was sitting next to me and I was THRILLED! He was such a good little flirt and I was addicted to his personality and good looks almost instantly. Unfortunately, it took some time for Tim to feel the same as he was currently "playing the field." He made me ask him for his number, which was entirely out of character for me, but I felt like it was necessary for some reason. It took about every ounce of courage in my body to ask for it...and it payed off! We stayed in contact for about 6 months and then...silence. However, it was not too long after that he called me out of the blue..Long story short, we dated all of my senior year and he put in his mission papers..
I felt so selfish, I really just wanted him to myself but knew the blessings of a mission and the importance of serving the Lord. So right after I graduated, Tim and I said our dreaded goodbyes.
So sorry this picture is just little for some reason.

We spent the next 2 years of our lives, writing and praying for things to work out between us. Thankfully, time flew by and he was home in no time (although, sometimes it felt like it would NEVER end!!) I went to the airport with his family and waited anxiously for him to walk down the terminal! Every man in a suit walking through the doors made my heart spin but when his nieces and nephews started saying "He's coming he's coming", my heart started pounding so loud I could hear nothing but the sound of my heart beating so quickly I was certain it would come flying out! The second I saw him, I burst into tears and all I could do was look at the man i loved standing feet from me. I waited for his family to hug him then for the ok from his dad, and I got my chance to throw my arms around his neck and give him the biggest hug I had ever given! It sounds so cheesy but the world simply fell away and it was just Tim and I. His sweet whispers of " I love you Trina, thanks for waiting" made 2 years with out him worth the wait. He held me while I sobbed into his suit jacket. It could not have felt more right, more perfect!! Our embrace was quickly inturrpted as we were reminded of the fact he had not been released and we would not be allowed to touch until he was! Such a bittersweet moment!

We spent every waking moment together and 7 weeks later he popped the big one!! He took me to the place we had met 4 years earlier! Side note-It was summer and nearly impossible for anyone to get in to the school auditorium, but he is magical and amazing and somehow pulled it off! I should have expected it but for some reason, Tim had me tricked into thinking that he we were going to pick up DJ stuff for his brother! Sneaky boy! Anyways, it was perfect and I said yes a million times through my tears of joy!! I had dreamt about it for so long that it was really hard for me to believe it was actually real! Simply perfect, just like my Tim!

Six Weeks later we were married for time and all eternity in the Snowflake, Az temple on September 12th 2009. I felt like a princess marrying her prince charming in a castle. Pretty much my dream come true! It was the most amazing day of our lives, at least so far! But that might have to be story for another blog, as this one seems to have gotten out of hand and dangerously long! Hopefully I'll get a better grasp on this whole blogging thing!
